After I Graduate, I’m Becoming A Police Officer. How Should I Work Towards That?

My friends are telling me to join the military while others say go to college. I don’t know what to do and my mom won’t let me get a job and wants me out of the house by 18 so I don’t think I will have enough money for college. So what should I do because law enforcement has been a life long dream. I’m also a junior if that has any significance.
