Price Waterhouse Coopers Overview

As one of the world’s largest professional service firms, you might expect that PricewaterhouseCoopers would offer some great internship and graduate programs for aspiring businesspeople. You’d be right. PricewaterhouseCoopers, also known as PwC, offers three different internships and a multitude of ways for degree-holders to get started in the business or to advance their careers. If you’re a talented and motivated person who is interested in adding a little muscle to your resume, build your experience, and network with others in the business world, then you should consider what PwC might have to offer you.

PwC’s internship programs are divided into three groups for individuals at different points in their education. For undergraduates who are in their next-to-last year of classes, PwC offers the Insight Internship. For graduate students who want to get their feet wet and then take some time before plunging into the world of professional services, PwC provides their graduate internship. Finally, for those who want to see what it would be like working for the company in another country, there’s the International Internship.

Most of PwC’s undergrad internships, including the overseas internship are 8 weeks long, starting in July, while the graduate internship has a variable duration which is no less than 6 months long. As far as requirements and qualifications, the primary stipulation is that you have a strong academic record and a dedication to the business at hand. Even if you aren’t in a directly business-related major you may still be accepted, provided you have a passion for and commitment to your chosen area of specialization. In addition, to qualify for some of the international positions, it helps if you are multi-lingual – PwC assigns interns to overseas offices based partially on their language skills.

Once accepted for a PwC internship, you’ll take on many of the same responsibilities of an actual employee of the company. You’ll spend some time getting to know your fellow interns before taking part in a training program designed to improve your general skills as well as skills pertaining to your chosen specialization. You’ll also be provided with a mentor who’s been through the program and can help you get through the demanding workload. There are some nice perks to an undergrad internship with PwC – if you do well during the 8 week period, then you are guaranteed entry into a graduate program once you’ve completed your degree. On top of that, PwC internships are paid, so you don’t have to stress about making ends meet while you work toward long-term career goals.

PwC’s graduate internships are designed for people who want a career with the company and want to get their foot in the door, but plan to take some time away before actually starting. To qualify for these programs, one must have all the qualifications of a person applying for an actual graduate position with the company. Performing well during the relatively short time spend at a graduate internship guarantees a proper spot in a full-time program when you’re ready to take it. That way, you can take some personal time without sacrificing your career.
