Event Marketing Jobs For Recent Graduate?
I am graduating in May 2009, with a Marketing degree. I am very interested in event marketing, but I don’t know many entry level jobs in that area. should I just look at assistant event planner type jobs?
if anyone knows companies is any big cities (sf, chicago, ny, austin) that would be great. thank you!

It will be very difficult to find a company hiring expressly for an events manager, as businesses first cut that out of their budgets. But, you should focus on an entry level marketing position that includes event management aspects so when the market picks back up, you have some exposure.

That’s going to be a hard career to get into with the economy the way it is. But try to get in at a hotel or resort that’s where you can get the experience then move on from there after a few years.
