How Long Does It Normally Take To Hear From Companies After Sending A Resume? Do I Call To Show My Interest?

I just recently sent a resume out to a cruiseline, though there were no posted openings on this particular cruiseline’s website said they are always looking for qualified employers. I am incredibily interested in the position of Youth Counselor aboard this ship. I want to make sure they see all my qualifications (I’ve worked at camps for years and currently teach school) and my incredible desire for this job opportunity. Should I call? Send another email to check up on the status of my resume? Any suggestions?
