Volunteer work or unpaid internships. Get a list of organizations in the general vicinity, and if they don’t have opportunities posted on their website, ask the ones that look like they would be fun to work for if they need anyone to perform basic tasks. If you’re lucky, they’ll decide to hire you; if not, at least you won’t have a huge gap on your resume until you land paying work.

Best thing to do when there is slow down in market is to study. Be a student for some more time, may be is some other university hopefully when u passout market will be good and u will have higher degree and better chance for job.

Try to find jobs that will get you a foot in the door. Maybe try starting small and working your way up to what you want to do. I have a degree in education and while I am trying to land a job with my own classroom, I have been a Paraprofessional Teacher and a Substitute Teacher.

I just graduated too… (B.S. in Psych)
but i’m having a baby, so i get to NOT look for a job just yet
Also, what I’m going to do is go to grad school.. it beats wasting my time for nothing. Maybe by the time I have my masters or doctorate, the market will be up

Call an employment agency. They sometimes have an edge in the job market and can get you placed in a job easier than you can place yourself. Adecco is a national agency that might have an office near you.
