Would he leave you for a better job? I think that would answer your question – basically it’s based upon how much of a committment there is from both of you.

Is it in a place that you’d both be interested in going to? Could his company transfer him there, or would he be open to looking there? Do you just want to get to that area, or could you focus on finding something similar locally? Is it something he would be ammenable to taking a leave of absence for say 6 months to check it out, or would you just have to live seperately for that time? How far is it – 1 hour flight or 5 hour flight? Is there anything in your own backyard that would offer same kinds of opportunity?
Your scenario made me come up with more questions than answers, but you should chart out the old “Pros vs. Cons” and get the answers on paper. You’ll be surpised at ow that helps with clarity.

You are asking a question that only you can truly answer. At this point, which matters more? There’s always the possibility of a long distance relationship until the two of you can meet on common grounds with a job that satisfies each of you. Or, you can stay there with him and keep searching for a job more suitable that will make you happier, without having to leave him. And, how much does he love and care for you in return? That is important to consider also. But only you can answer this question for yourself.

take the job. see what it’s like for a couple of months. if it’s awesome then maybe your bf could move and if it’s not then you’ve not lost anything. if my partner had an oppurtunity like that i’d put them 1st but that’s just me.
