Where Can A Middle-class, College Graduate, Who Is Struggling To Pay Her Bills, Get Any Help?

I make too much money to get any help, but I don’t make enough to really get by. I have had to pay 100% of my medical insurance at my job which is 360 bucks a month. I am getting paid 28k BEFORE taxes. Do the math…and I don’t come out a winner. I honestly feel like I’m in a downward spiral. I have picked up a little extra work, but that’s only helping a bit. Is there anything out there, federal grants, people who give low interest loans, or a rich person who’d like to adopt me?? haha …but in all seriousness, what are us middle-class citizens supposed to do? I feel trapped.

at this point in my life, i am still pretty young (26) and have a lot of hobbies, interests etc. that i want to pursue. does anyone out there have a good part time job where they make a decent amount of money and can pay all their bills?
i graduated from college with 3 degrees and have pretty good work experience with admin and science. but i need to make 35k a year.

I had to leave my full time job to go to school. Grades are really important because it is a pre-certification program for grad school. How do people do it? I’m new to the student loan and financial aid process. I know that some programs say that the students can’t work–like med or law school. How can I just focus on my studies and have my expenses taken care of? The cost of gas, cc bills, food, health insurance are some of my concerns.

I was charged an overdraft fee which cause a bunch of other stuff to bounce incurring MORE overdraft fee’s then I was in over my head because the total debt to the bank was over $1000 of which I could never pay back. I stopped depositing money into the account so I could pay my bills, eventually opening a new account at a new bank. Well a couple months later my monthly bills had balances off hundreds of $ looking at the bills I could see that the bank I o’ed fee$ took back like 2-4 months of payments I paid to my bills to cover there od fees! One of my credit cards didnt even warn me they just sent a letter that said you r now in collections you o the amount in FULL. this bank f**ked my life! Is it legal to take back visa purchases to cover OD fee’s??

The other day I get a letter in the mail from collections saying that I owe thousands of dollars to the hospital from when my son was born.. that was 2 years ago & I was on medicaid.. & was supposed to be fully covered. No one ever even told me that I owed anything.. & I shouldn’t anyways. Well anyways the collections calls me today & says that if I don’t pay in full today that I will be prosecuted, go to court & possibly jail. I have 30 dollars in my checking account & the amount they say I owe is more then I make in a month.. I’m a full time nursing student. They were really mean to me when I tried to explain & didn’t seem to care if I had the money or not.. just that I better get it or else.. I’m so scared now & I’ve been crying for like an hour.. how can they do this? And why hasn’t someone told me before now? And I was on medicaid.. this doesn’t make any sense.. what do I do? Please help?

I owe money to Quest Diagnostics, a large company that does lab work. I have hypothyroidism and my dr was having me come in for several blood tests a year, at a point, as often as once a month, till the thyroid levels in my blood were steady and healthy & my meds seemed like the right dose for me. there were a few yearly physical exams w/ blood tests as well. Some visits I was uninsured others i was (when i got F/T hrs w/ benefits) but cuz I was diagnosed with my condition prior to joining, they wouldnt cover it (prediagnosis) for the first year of the plan. All occured over a few years, off the top of my hear I think the first visit was oct/nov 2004? First collections called a lot but i didnt answer & it just stopped one day. There was a while when I got letters by mail each one trying to sound more serious/threatening than the last. They didnt stop but slowed down tons. I need my debt total so I can plan payment.Bill says amount due for indiv visit. Sent separately but inconsistantly

My Doctor Doesn’t Send Bills, What Do I Do?

My son’s pedi. doesn’t bill their patients (according to the secretary). Upon my visits they try to get me to pay what they think is due at that time. I said to bill me and I will pay. The secretary said the Dr. doesn’t send bills and that I get an EOB from my insurance provider (the document that says “This is not a bill” and says what I “May owe the provider”). I said I want a bill. They have provided a year of service and I switched Dr.’s. I have never received a bill and have only paid the co-pay. The last straw was my final visit where they made me sign a document that said I was fully responsible for the remaining cost of vaccinations for my son that insurance doesn’t cover. Is this legal? SHould I send a letter requesting a bill for the balance that I am aware of or just wait for them to take action?

Can Dentist Send Me Bills Half A Year Later Claiming My Insurance Didn’t Cover All Costs?

I had some dental work done and paid off all balances right at the dentist office. The staement showed a balance of $0.
I just received a bill from the dentist, six month after that work was done, claiming that I owe them money, and that the bill is past due. Even though this is the first letter I received from them!
I moved out of state 2 months ago and also changed insurance since I have a new employer. Can they still come after me?
