i was assigned 2 out for four days to plan. The theme is Emotion.
Art 1 :
Make a poster with pictures of each preschooler making a different faces that show each emotion. Glue the pictures on poster and allow the kids to decorate their square with glitter and stickers.
*Make the poster and label each emotion under the corresponding picture.*
Activity 1 :
Emotion Bingo. Make Bingo Cards with different emotions, and cards that match. Call out emotions on the cards and if the children have that emotion on their bingo card have them cover it. After each round give the winner a sticker than at the end give stickers to the children who haven’t received them.
Circle time :
When the poster is finished bring it into circle and allow the kids to pick which emotion they are feeling. Ask them to explain their emotion. Continue each day.
Writing Activity :
Laminate Different kinds of emotion.
Example; Happy, Sad, Angry, Scared, Surprised, Tired, Silly, Serious.
Then have the preschoolers trace over the laminated words with expo markers. Allow them to continue to do each emotion. And explain that they can erase with the expo marker.
Math Activity :
Laminate Numbers 1- 15. Have the preschoolers count how many letters are in each word. Then they verbalize how many letters ask them to pick out the paper with the corresponding number. After they find the paper have them trace over the number with an expo marker.
Art 2 :
Have the preschoolers pick an emotion and draw it on a paper plate. Glue popsicle sticks to the plates. when they are finished drawing label what emotion they chose.
Activity 2:
Elimination game : Take the drawings that the children made earlier and have each child pick a picture, not their own, and stand in a line with the picture facing outward. Call out an emotion and have the children look around to see who is holding the corresponding picture. whoever holds that emotion has to sit down.
Songs :
If your happy and you know it.
If your happy and you know it clap your hands.
If your happy and you know it clap your hands.
If your happy and you know it and you really want to show it
If your happy and you know it clap your hands.
Happy Feeling
I’ve got that happy feeling, here in my heart,
Here in my heart, here in my heart.
I’ve got that happy feeling here in my heart,
Here in my heart to stay.
I’ve got that happy feeling down in my feet
Down in my feet, down in my feet

My son’s preschool class wants to order t-shirts for the kids. Every year a t-shirt committee is elected to decide on a design and so forth. This year I am apparently heading the group and none of the other parents are even interested in helping me.
What are some good website with simple designs for a preschool tee? Possibly a cute school house, stick children, or something cute and simple?
Thanks in advance for your help.
P.S. We have decided we want the back to be a big ’07 in block lettering with all the kids names inside the numbers. We are looking for a design for the front of the tee. Either covering the whole front, or just the small upper left corner of the shirt.

I recently turned 20 years old. With turning 20 a lot of big changes occured including my boss handing me a position to teach a 2 1/2 – 3 1/2 year old group.
I’m a little concerned about how circle time is going to work. The 3 1/2 year olds have become pro’s..but I’m only going to have about 2 of the older 3′s and more of the 2′s. I am required to do Circle time.
Circle time needs to include:
1. A story
2. A look at the calendar
3. A look at the weather
4. A look at a letter (Each month we cover 2 letters, and during circle time we go over the letters)
I know how to do a calendar lesson with 4 and 5 year olds – but how would you go about doing one with 3 and 2 year olds? I dont think that they’ll fully understand the concept. Should I just say something like “The month we are in today is September, and the day is Monday. Today is Monday September 21st” and then have them count with me to put the number where it belongs?
Any advice would be great..(More details coming)

I work with a preschool class and I want to do some simple projects for the parents of my class and for some of them I would like to take a picture of the kids and have them frame it for an art project along with a class picture. I will give all the parents the picture of their child, but would like to keep a class picture and give one to each child. I am not sure about legality, and how to word it so they sign something that will cover my behind about taking pictures of the kids. None of it is sexual in any way, but I have heard you need permission from parents to take pictures of children, even at school. This is my first year as a preschool teacher, so I haven’t had the experience so any help would be great! Thanks!

I am an unqualified nursery assistant, and I absolutely love my job and the children there but i have few problems
* They don’t pay me properly, they are 1 month behind with my salary and I always get paid late, after everybody.
* I could start my training in child care on August but I need to working at least 16 hours a week and I work only 12 hours a week, but they won’t increase my shifts.
* Even though the nursery is close to where I live I still have to get 2 buses and the traffic is terrible in the mornings taking me 45 minutes to get to work whilst on the way back I do in only 10 minutes.
So I am thinking about to wright a cover letter and try and get a job in another nursery. I am here to ask for help on what I could put in a letter, what you think?
I am hard working and love working with children
I am willing to get qualified
I have a 2 years daughter and she would have to come with and I can pay for her (half price) as I am already doing.
Can you give me some more lines
Thanks
